Milleens Cheese

09-24-06

My friend Quinlan and his family are the brilliance behind Milleens Cheese. His mother, Veronica began making this cheese in 1976 and now, 30 years later, it is VERY well known and respected all throughout Ireland. Their website describes their cheese as follows:
"Milleens is a soft, washed-rind cheese made from cows milk on the rugged Beara peninsula of South West Ireland. The complex and delicate cheese is made from the milk of Friesian cows grazing the mountains and pastures of the peninsula".
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love cheese. I have enjoyed chatting with Quinlan and hearing all about the world of cheese production. It's AMAZING!
