Day 3 - Hanging out in Ireland

Despite the late nite, we were all sitting in a pub (Hickies Bar) in Kilkee drinking and continuing to enjoy each other’s company by lunchtime today. We took my great Aunt Jenny & Uncle Tom around Kilkee so they could visit the beach and see the Kilkee Cliffs. Due to their age, it’s tough for them to move around, but they hung right in and enjoyed strolling around, laughing and living it up.

On the way back from Kilkee, myself, my mom & dad and my cousin Liam drove by St. Senan’s Church and St. Senan’s Cemetery which is where our family (my great-grandmother & great-grandfather & some of my grandma’s siblings) are buried. The cemetery is right along the Shannon River and absolutely lovely.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at the house where the family gathered down at the bottom of the drive to hang up the “May Way” sign which is symbolic of my grandmother’s sister (my great Aunt May) who used to live @ the house. It was pretty cool to have the family all together for such a moment. Here's a quick pic of the all of us who are a Callinan/Dillion "dedicating" the sign:

Saturday evening, we loaded up and headed to Ennis for an evening of dinner, laughs and drinking. We ate at The Town Hall & then moved next door to The Old Ground where my great Aunt Jenny & Uncle Tom were excited @ getting to listen to some Irish tunes. I enjoyed meeting up w/ Cliona (a sister of some friends of mine) and hanging out. We shared some stories and a few drinks! GOOD TIMES! Although the evening was cut short in Ennis, the party didn’t stop once we got back to the house. The beer and liquor continued to flow, Daragh brought out the guitar and the cousins hung out drinking & singing along to tunes on the guitar till nearly 4am.
