Several of you have emailed and asked about the outcome of my Dr's visit on Monday regarding my shoulders. The break down is that...the right shoulder (the one I hurt a couple weeks ago) has healed perfectly! I'm sling free and xrays show no problems whatsever!!! The left shoulder however, needs a bit more attention (which was expected).
According to the xrays, and you can see it very clearly, @ the end of the acromion/acromioclavicle joint it looks like a jagged edge (vs. being smooth which would be normal) and it shows arthritis has set in. The Dr. says the arthritis likely set it sometime after the Mtn. bike wreck I had a few years back and that what I really had at that time was a separation/dislocation not just a severe sprain as I was told & treated for. She stated that over time with me remainging an active person & yes, playing rugby, it has (of course) continued to become re-aggravated to this constant nagging pain I now have.
In addition, I potentially have some bicep tendon(s) and/or rotator stuff going on. So I'll head for an MRI next Friday where she will get the full picture on if there's more damage and if so to what degree & what they can do for it.
