So, in Western (WCU) news this week...a Starbucks has officially opened up ON CAMPUS. And I think I feel slighted a bit. Afterall, back in my day all we had was that burnt pot-o-coffee @ the Huddle House. Although, in all fairness I have to say we did have the love of Cullowhee Cafe, Grandma's Pancake Barn & a brew thru. Oh and did I mention the beer truck that would magically show up at the house?? I'd like to also point out that except for the magic beer truck arriving @ our door, we had to drive to all those other establishments I just mentioned, so yes, I feel a bit slighted in that the kids of WCU today have such a luxury ON CAMPUS.
I mean really, a STARBUCKS? ON CAMPUS?? In walking distance from your dorm, your classrooms, etc.?? I'm not gonna lie, if there had been a Starbucks ON CAMPUS back in the day when I was there, I am most certain I wouldn't have skipped so many classes. I know I wouldn't have b/c Starbucks would have been my lure, my motivation and my ass-kicking to get to class....And YES, I realize admitting this is pathetic, yet true. My morning cup o' coffee is my crack.
