The Pre-Op Report....

Okay....so lots happening around here. So much so that I am moving a mile a minute in an effort to get everything done that needs doing. My shoulder surgery is officially scheduled and my pre-op this week went very well. I have been informed & lectured by both Dr. Toth & Cody (her PA) about what I'm allowed to do and not do. They have laid down the law w/ me and all is understood.

The GOOD:
I'm allowed to go to the gym and ride the bike as soon as I'm up to it! ALLEUIA, my fat rolls thank you kindly for this!!!

I can return to work as soon as I want just no bounty hunting until after the first of the year. :(

The ICKY:
I will be slung up for 4-8 weeks. I'm sure that will look lovely & cause me much crankiness.

I'm not allowed to drive for several weeks. NOW, everyone knows I burn up the roads, so I literally laughed at them when they said this. We discussed this & I've been granted murmured permission to drive to PT & to work but that's about it. Oh and they gave me the paperwork to take to the DMV for my handicap permit for the next 3 months. (Keep your "special needs" jokes to yourselves, thanks.)

Overall, I think the surgery itself will go well b/c I have an awesome doctor and Duke has been amazing in the care they've given me thus far. However, I have no doubt that I'm also in for a rude awakening in that I'm gonna have to slowwww down tremendously over the next few months and actually ask people to help me. May the force of patience be with me.....and may my pride not kill me on the days I need an aide.

That sums up all my pre-op news. Currently I'm busy preparing for everything as best I can. And will just take the rest as it comes. Thanks to all of my awesome friends who've already offered to help me out and keep me sane over the next few months. Ya'll are the best!!!!
