Relaxing Weekend with Great Weather & Great Rugby!

Everything is continuing to go very well w/ my shoulder. I had my first PT appt on Friday. I go to an Athletic Performance Center that works with all types of athletes (including the Carolina Hurricanes). My session was very productive & although painful, it was the good kind of pain. They removed the dressings but unfortunately the suture tape has to stay on. Thank goodness for alcohol pads to clean the area and kill any stench. HA! I have 2 holes stiched up. One is located on the top of my shoulder and the other is on the back upper side. I'll go in on Nov. 19th to have the stiches removed and follow-up with my Dr.

Despite the contraption I'm in, I've continued to be up and moving around really well. The sling contraption is large & in charge and it's mandatory. So I am abiding by the rules and wearing it 24/7 per the Dr's orders. I even have to sleep in it which doesn't make for the most comfortable sleeping arrangements, but I'm making do and try not to complain as it could be worse. I continue not to be on any pain meds other than motrin and also continue w/ the polar care ice machine several times a day. I'm very pleased thus far in my recovery!

Although it still takes me 3x's as long to do things (i.e. dressing, bathing, preparing to go anywhere, preparing food, etc.) it's been great being able to get out and about. Sitting around the house got old on Day 2. :) I still tire out pretty quickly, but nothing that a rest or a nap can't tackle.

Speaking of getting out and about.....Saturday was of course a RUGBY day (& a GO DAWGS day)! The Dawgs beat Tenn Tech 38-0. It's a cream puff win, but a win none-the-less. My ladies (NC Nightingales) played @ UNCC where they won 113-0. BTW, that's not a mis-type, the score was really 113-0. I wasn't able to make the trek to Charlotte to cheer them on, but I was able to get out, enjoy the nice weather and watch the Bragg boys beat So Pines 29-15. Later that evening several of us headed to the FireAntz game (amateur hockey)! It reminded me of the days when I'd go watch the Atlanta Knights play. As always we had a blast and of course pulled some shenanigans amongst the ice leaving our mark on Crowne Colliseum. Today I enjoyed getting my hair washed and then did some shopping. The rest of my evening has been spent kicking back and relaxing.
