1 Month Post Surgery Report...
Although the past 4 weeks has flown by, I have officially reached that stage where I'm tired of this shit. I've been contrapped for a month and still have another week & a few days to go before I'm out of my "slingshot2". Although I'm moving around better & have come up with some creative ways to get the normal day to day things done like laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. I still don't have the full range of motion to do things like wash my own hair yet & getting dressed is still a process that I have to be very slow & careful with. I still exhaust very easily and need about 10-12 hours a sleep per day as I continue to heal. I'm also enduring alot more pain which has made for some rough days over the past week. Thank god for Oxycodone (@ night to help me relax & sleep) and my polar care system. If I could be hooked up to the polar care 24/7 I swear I would be. Whoever invented that btw, is brilliant.
Overall I think I'm doing really well & under the circumstances of being on my own I've really exceeded at figuring things out without causing destruction. :) My 6 week follow-up is on Dec. 14th where I (and my PT's) hope to be cleared to move forward & get down to serious business in rebuilding my strength, etc. The Dr. still has me on a VERY strict protocol b/c they're afraid I'll over do it too soon. Imagine that? HAHA! So everything continues to move very slooowwwwly. Thank you again to everyone (especially my dear friend Jana) who checks in on me, offers to help anytime of the day or night and most importantly keeps me entertained & laughing. I have the best family/friends and PT's in the whole world!!!!
