Congrats GAMECOCKS!!!!!

For those of you who may not follow college sports, specifically college baseball, it is for me one of my all time favorite things to do. I can't explain it...that's just how it is, that's how it's always been and that's the way it's always gonna be. Every June, the CWS (College World Series) kicks off and I'm glued to the brackets and catching as many games as I can via the TV or online.

NOW, before any of you get your drawers all bunched up because a Dawg Fan like myself elected to root for the South Carolina Gamecocks you should first get your facts straight as it pertains to the brackets & how the other SEC teams stacked up beginning with Regionals...and then how things panned out once reaching the Super-Regionals. I'll make it easy for you to do your research, here's a link to the brackets: http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/2010/ncaa_bracket_DI_baseball.html

The bottom line is that I'm all about supporting other SEC teams when my beloved Dawgs don't make it. That's generally how folks in the SEC operate. And being that I spent some time in SC, I learned to love, okay like the Gamecocks (just a little) and as long as they weren't playing my Dawgs.

So, for me it was very clear from the moment the Gamecocks made it to regionals that they were the team to support and the best choice in representing the SEC as they continued onward in their CWS journey. And let me tell you folks...their run at the CWS was one of the BEST I've seen in years. They never gave up and they always stood proudly with the utmost dignity as they represented not only USC, but the SEC as well. It was absolutely amazing, a well deserving championship win and you could tell from the first game they played on 4 June that they wanted it!!! And damn if they didn't bring it all the way home!!!!

Way to go GAMECOCKS!!!!!!

FYI Gamecock School History Fun Fact: For the first time in school history, the South Carolina Gamecocks have won the College World Series. It is the second championship in the history of USW-- the other being women's track and field.
