The RBS 6 Nations has wrapped up with Wales collecting it's third 6 Nations Grand Slam in eight years for the men and for the 7th time in 7 years, the chariot continued to swing low yet again as England takes the title for the women. Congrats to both!
Meanwhile....6 Nations dramatics continue over whether or not England's hooker bit Ireland's Flanker, Stephen Ferris' finger. http://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2012/0319/313080-hartley-cited-for-biting-incident/
While I am an Irish fan and have been a hooker myself, I am still trying to figure out how on earth a rugger thinks it would be a brilliant idea to chomp on an opponents finger while amongst a blessed ruck. Furthermore, what "professional" rugby player allows himself to become so undisciplined to partake in such an alleged biting? He should have all his focus & drive on the game and the play @ hand (no pun intended), not focused on tasting Flanker Ferris' finger.
My favorite posting about this incident thus far is the you tube video that states: "At around about the 10 seconds mark, Hartley bites Ferris (number 6). The bite is unseen but Ferris calls at the referee Nigel Owens. He then approaches the referee and shows him the bite on his finger". SRSLY?????
