Blind Runner Guide...What an Honor!

I embarked on a very humbling experience a few weekends ago when a blind teammate of mine needed a runner guide for a local 5K fun run.  He needed someone slow like me for an easy pace b/c the next day was the All American Full Marathon to which he was participating in.  As it turns out, he's a marathon machine having recently ran London & then Boston.

I had an absolute blast running w/ Ivan as he's got quite a sense of humor.  I laughed the entire run.  I also think I found a new talent in blind runner guiding.  I hope to have the opportunity to do this more often.

Ivan is a top notch soldier who continues to serve our great nation, he's an inspiration to other wounded warriors as well as our local running community and he believes in giving back which he does in countless ways.  You can read more about him here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iv%C3%A1n_Castro
OR by simply researching CPT Ivan Castro.
