Giving cancer a butt kicking, please pray for Dylan!!!

This is my buddy Dylan. He's 2 and a half years old and one of the bravest, strongest little guys I know. (So are his momma & daddy) Dylan has been traveling down a rough road since early December 2008 when a CT scan showed a baseball size brain tumor in his head. He underwent emergency surgery to remove the mass & since late December he has been kicking cancer's ass with what will end up being 6 rounds of chemo when it's all said & done. And THAT is what brings me to the point of my post...... This weekend Dylan is hammering out his final round of chemo in what they call the "transplant unit". If there wasn't such strict rules/restrictions on what is allowed/not allowed in the transplant unit, I'd for sure send him a crown fit for a king, noise makers, a butt load of balloons & lots of cool race cars to help him celebrate this milestone.

Once Dylan completes this final round of chemo (which should be in just another day or two) he will then have his stem cells re-infused into his body. The point of this is for the stem cells to re-engraft his bone marrow and begin producing blood cells again. This is a long process, so Dylan (& his parents) will be in the hospital for some time.  Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers as they go through this next phase of treatment.

Side Note:  It goes without saying that this has been a long haul for my dear friend Amy ("Doc") and her hubby Brian. And it also goes without saying that there will be many more days ahead that won't be easy. There will be good days which will make those rough days bearable and the rough days will make them stronger than they already are.  I know Amy & Brian will always find strength in the awesome support network that they've got (i.e. family, friends, excellent doctors & nurses, cancer support services, etc.), but they will find the greatest amount of strength in their son Dylan. He is a fighter and to be so young he is putting a UFC fighter to shame with the amount of strength that he has as he tells this cancer where it can go once and for all.

Lastly, this picture of Dylan is one of my absolute favorites. I have it where I can see it everyday b/c 1) He makes me smile. 2) It reminds me to be tough just like Dylan when life is challenging me and 3) How can you not look at this and see the cutest, bravest lil' Cancer Warrior EVER?

Aunt Turtle loves you Dylan.  Stay strong!
