Aunt Turtle & the game of TENNIS!!!

My niece is a chip off the ol' block when it comes to picking up a tennis racquet. And her recent debut on the local news (see more about that below) got me to thinking.....

I realized that the sport of tennis is now a 3rd generation sport for my family. My mom has played for years & continues her year round play w/out a hitch. My dad played, but I think we all agree that we'd just assume put that outta our minds b/c he wasn't exactly the most savvy tennis player. HA! My brother and sister both played. And I myself played competively for years. It's one of the things in my life that I'm most proud of. And believe it or not, I still find my way back to the court from time to time where that evil backhand of mine erupts just like it did back in the day. :)

When I watched my niece in the video below, it not only brought back alot of great memories from the days when I played, but it also brought forth a sense of pride in getting to watch her carry on the tennis tradition within our family. I'm so proud of her for all her accomplishments both on and off the court. I hope tennis will give her the same sense of pride and success that it gave to me.

Check out the video link @ the end of my post. The clip was taken @ the Raquet Club of the South where many up and coming tennis champs play & practice under the direction of Sanjay Jayaram (Read his biography here http://www.rcsacademy.com/Staff/tabid/122/Default.aspx).

My niece is the one in pink & black who reminds us that:
"It shows that if you really work hard, you can succeed at what you do".
