A Weekend of Honoring Injured Veterans

The first weekend of October, one hundred, that's right I said 100, severely injured veterans will be coming to Beaufort, South Carolina to participate in the Independence Bike Ride or the Lt Dan 5K AND to rock out with Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band who will be putting on a free concert Friday night @ the Shrimp Festival. All of which has been made possible by the Independence Fund, the town of Beaufort and their abundance of volunteers and all the sponsors who have shown their support for this event. The Little Red Dog Foundation and AMBUCS Chapters from across the US will be sponsoring several of the bikes that will be given away to these injured veterans @ the event. Each bike will be modified and adapted to meet the rider's needs which will create mobility and independence for them to participate in the "Independence Ride" on 2 October, 2010!! These specialized bikes will also be a huge component to each veteran's rehabilitation by continuing to increase their strength, improve their mobility and progressing in their PT/OT.
