Catch Up Post

I know, I'm slack on the blogging.  Life just gets crazy and I seem to never have time.  Maybe in 2015, I'll find a way to "make time" to blog away on a consistent basis.  Until then...here's a random post to make note of some cool stuff I did or saw over the past couple of months.

In October, I ran the Army Ten Miler with Operation Enduring Warrior (OEW).  It was a really fun run with great people.  The route was a neat way to enjoy some of the sights that DC has to offer.  In my down time, I enjoyed walking around and seeing DC as I had never really had the opportunity to do so before.  I spared myself from the White House and focused my time elsewhere.  HAHA!  My most favorite was the WWII Memorial.  Absolutely astonishing.  Brought me to tears.  I also enjoyed laughing and carrying on with my teammates.  We certainly leave our mark & make random new friends wherever we go.

A week later, I ran the Ath Half.  This was a race I have wanted to do for some time.  It's in Athens, Ga which of course makes my heart happy b/c I love it there.  The route went through some cool sites in Athens both on and off campus and you finish the race with a lap around Sanford Stadium.  Oh and it's full of holy hills!!!!  BUT, I ended up PR'ing.  I still can't believe it.  I was so damn proud of myself.  I will run this one again!

Speaking of Athens, I got to spend a lot of weekends between the hedges this fall.  It was awesome!  I went to every home game but 2.  The most memorable game of the season was def the Auburn game.  This was the first time that my dad, brother, myself & my nephew all went to the game together.  We took a picture and realized it was 3 generations of Dawgs.  I also really enjoyed the Vandy game b/c I got to spend some quality time with my niece.  We had a blast.  All were special moments & we have lots of fun pics worth framing.

Now that football season has started to wind down, the holiday hoopla is in full force.  Nov and Dec have been "fun run" and ruck months with my teammates.  We had a spectacular Thanksgiving together as well.  Tons of delicious food and fabulously fun times.  Dec has also brought us together at several different events.  We had a paintball birthday party for one of the kiddos.  We had a blast.  Pretty sure we will have a paintball outing again at some point.  Last weekend we got dressed up and attended the Spur Cup dinner in support of our teammate John who won the Spur Cup for 2014.  He's a ridiculous runner and worked so hard for such an amazing accomplishment.  The following day we all met up again for our Team RWB Chapter Christmas shin-dig.  It too was full of delicious food & fun times.  I also attended my rugby team's Christmas party.  We sponsored 2 families for Christmas this year to which I played a key role in coordinating.  I have never in all my life been so proud of my team.  The generosity of my teammates is something words can't describe.  It's going to be a wonderful Christmas for these families.  I can't wait to get the loot delivered to them.

Okay, that's pretty much the nutshell version of happenings Oct - Dec.  Until my next entry....GO DAWGS!
