I Just Understand.....

A few people have asked me "how do you do it, how do you stand to work with animals that have been abused, neglected, hurt...."?  

My answer:  Well....animals are very special creatures.  The way in which they touch the lives of us humans is difficult to put into words.  But I will do my best to try to explain how working with rescue horses touches my heart and soul....

Working with rescues of any kind, is not for the faint of heart.  Some of the stories and the conditions that they come from can be heartbreaking.  Since given the opportunity to work with horse rescues, I have learned that I have a special connection with them.  I understand their fear, their hesitation in trusting and how scary it can be.  I understand the effects of the abuse they've endured.  I understand the pain, the anxiety, the unknowing, the stress, the loneliness and the demons.  I also understand the level of patience and the amount of time needed for the healing process.  I just understand....        

Together we are safe. 
Together we heal.   
There is no judgement.  
There is only love and acceptance.....endless amounts of unconditional love and acceptance.
